Baccalaureate & Graduate Nursing
Career opportunities for the baccalaureate, graduate, and doctorally prepared nurses are expanding each and every day. Nursing will continue to be a critical component in the health care system of tomorrow.
Baccalaureate education is the minimal preparation for the professional practice of nursing. After graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree and successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination, you will be prepared to practice nursing in a variety of settings including hospitals, community health and mental health agencies, industrial health centers, nursing homes, family planning centers, and crisis care centers.
Some of our graduates have entered the armed forces as commissioned officers or have served as missionary nurses, nurses with HOPE, Vista, or other humanitarian organizations.
At Eastern we have a progressive, innovative curriculum to guide you through the study of nursing science. BSN & MSN programs at EKU are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC, 20001 (202) 887-6791. Accreditation is one indicator of excellence in nursing education.
If you want the opportunity to be a provider of patient-centered care, a designer/manager/coordinator of care, and a member of a profession who is proactive in a changing health care system, then a nursing degree is for you. EKU will help you achieve these goals! That is the "Essential Eastern" we are proud of.
